I was always told

My mother always told me
“If ya can’t dance ya yard’
ya can’t dance a broad’
I always here her words
When she gets the news
about the good choice i did not choose
In school or at home
It doesn’t matter where
I just leave the words hanging in the air,
She goes on and on for the next 20 mins
Talking bout Oh i’m pushing her to her limit
Then whens shes done i hear the door bell ring
My father comes upstairs and says the same thing
My mother still goes on as if i popped her lid
I listen to y father cause he did what i did
